“Hey, I haven’t seen that before! Is this a new Facebook update?!”

If you are a regular user of Facebook Business Manager, you may not notice all the changes as they are implemented. But if you are an occasional user or there are substantial stretches of time when you are absent from the app, you will likely notice a lot has changed since the last time you logged into the app.

But before we get into the Facebook changes and what they can mean for you, just in case you’re a newbie to the digital marketing world, let’s talk about:

What is Facebook Business Manager?

Facebook Business Manager is a free tool created by Facebook to assist businesses in keeping on top of their game.

It allows them to manage their pages, their ad accounts, and pixels without a hassle.

As Facebook puts it, with Business Manager, you can “create and manage multiple assets,” “control user access and permissions,” and “track your ads.”

How do I create a Facebook Business Manager account?

If you are new to Facebook as a business owner trying to reach its customers and promote its products or services on the social platform, it can be daunting to get the wheel rolling.

But fret not, you can take it one step at a time. And the first step is to create a Business Manager Account.

Here is how you do it:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com/overview.
  2. Click on Create Account in the top right-hand corner of the page. The following pop-up will appear.

How To Create A Facebook Business Manager Account?

Once your Facebook Business Manager account is set up, you can start learning the ropes and managing your business better.

Now, coming back to the topic at hand,

Why do I need to keep up to date with Facebook Business Manager updates?

When it comes to the digital world, changes take place every. freaking. day.

Whether you are concerned with a Facebook Messenger update or a Facebook update in Ads Manager, it is insane the amount of useful information you can miss if you don’t keep up.

But what are you missing really?

Facebook changes are implemented in order to make your life easier. Keeping up to date with the changes taking place with regard to the digital advertising platform you use benefits YOU and YOUR business.

How?

Simply by equipping you with the latest version of tools, techniques, and features that help you better leverage the power of the platform.

It is important to note, here, that things aren’t always being added to Facebook Business Manager or Ads Manager – things are being removed too.

Picture this:

You use a feature frequently that allows you to take ad targeting to the next level. Facebook decides to remove this feature.

In order for you to not lose momentum and remain on track, you will need to figure out a way around the Facebook update. And you will only be able to do this if you are aware that the change has happened in the first place.

But that’s not all:

We are always mentioning that the digital marketing and advertising space is a highly competitive one.

Facebook advertising is no different.

And that is all the more reason to remain up to speed with EVERYTHING that’s happening that can affect the way you manage your business on Facebook.

If you do not bother to learn about changes to tools and features within Facebook Business Manager or Ads Manager, you will, without a doubt, be left behind.

But someone (read, YOUR COMPETITORS) who has not made the same mistake will be able to leverage the full power of the tools at their disposal and get ahead.

This will result in a loss to your business that never needed to happen.

Bottom line: Keeping up with Business and Ads Manager changes will only benefit your business. And that isn’t something you want to compromise on.

How to know which Facebook Business Manager updates to focus on

Here’s the catch: should you immediately try out every new feature or check out every new update in detail?

That isn’t practical at all.

What you want to do is keep on the lookout for updates that are relevant to you. If Facebook changes have been introduced into a feature that you use regularly, you definitely want to play around with it to understand it better.

On the other hand, if the Facebook update doesn’t concern you because the feature isn’t relevant to your operations, you can let it be. Don’t waste your time exploring things you know you aren’t going to use.

Bottom line: Stay updated to slay the ad game!

Facebook Business Manager or Ads Manager plays a crucial part in your ad strategy.

So you can’t ignore updates to the tools.

Just remember: focus on the Facebook updates that can actually help you manage your business better and ignore the Facebook changes that are irrelevant to you.
